April will be a milestone month for the Food Bank of Lincoln and they people it serves – They will distribute its 50 millionth meal.

Since opening its doors in 1982, the Food Bank of Lincoln has been innovative in terms of distributing food to citizens in need.

Programs such as the BackPack program, mobile pantries in rural communities and local agency partnerships have really benefited the community as a whole.  Today, times are tough for many, which makes the Food Bank’s work more vital.

With community support, the Food Bank of Lincoln and its partners are providing food for over 8,000 people each week.
