Fresh Start Announces Temporary Closer of The Daisy Thrift Shop

Fresh Start’s (www.FreshStartHome.org) The Daisy Thrift Shop is closed until May 15 in response to the pandemic caused by coronavirus. Fresh Start will look to Department of Health and Human Services for guidance for reopening its largest fundraiser, The Daisy Thrift Shop. Stay up to date on the shop reopening by visiting the Facebook page (@thedaisythriftshop). This closure is intended to promote social distancing to help slow the spread of the virus.

A pandemic doesn’t make homelessness stop, and Fresh Start is still open and providing services to their residents. Their building remains closed to visitors unless you are dropping off essential items such as: gloves, paper towels, sanitizer wipes, hand soap, Lysol spray, and hand sanitizer. These items help Fresh Start maintain a safe and healthy living environment for the 24 women they serve.

Fresh Start’s mission is to empower women experiencing homelessness to overcome barriers to self-sufficiency by recognizing and using their strengths. It is more than a shelter; it’s a goal-oriented program designed to support women who are working diligently to improve their lives.
