Friendship Home Moves 19th Annual Safe Quarters to Virtual Event

Friendship Home (www.friendshiphome.org) has made the difficult decision to reconfigure the 19th annual Safe Quarters into a virtual event due to the increased spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19.

Similar to their 2020 event, the virtual Safe Quarters event will utilize a crowd funding approach to the campaign. Virtual team captains will raise funds by asking their family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors via email, phone, and social media from October 3 through October 17. With the event goal to raise $45,000, funds will go towards Friendship Home’s mission to provide safe, confidential shelter, crisis services, and ongoing support for families who have experienced domestic violence and are rebuilding their lives. To register to be a virtual team captain, contact Dani Bryant at danib@friendshiphome.org or (402) 434-0167. Team captains registered by September 8 will receive a complimentary team captain t-shirt.

Friendship Home started in 1978 to support, shelter, and advocate for victims of domestic violence and their children. Their current facilities have expanded shelter options including traditional housing and single family shelters. Friendship Home provides an array of crisis intervention services, case management, and emotional support to those in their shelters as well as those who are waiting for shelter; they help them rebuild their lives, free from fear.
