Global Ties Nebraska will host its Annual Celebration on Friday, April 4, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Talon Room, 230 N 12th St., in downtown Lincoln. This special evening will bring together community leaders, global exchange advocates and citizen diplomats for an evening of celebration, networking and recognition.
This year’s event marks two milestones for the nonprofit as it officially celebrates its transition from Lincoln Council for International Visitors (LCIV) to Global Ties Nebraska, reflecting its commitment to international diplomacy, exchange and engagement across the state and within the Global Ties U.S. network.
Global Ties Nebraska will also be celebrating the 85th anniversary of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). IVLP is the flagship professional exchange initiative that brings emerging leaders from around the world to the United States on short term professional exchanges. Global Ties Nebraska does professional and cultural programming when the cohort’s tour includes a stop in Lincoln.
As part of this year’s celebration, Global Ties Nebraska will welcome an IVLP delegation of educators from Angola, Bolivia, Cuba, Eritrea, Japan, Libya, Nepal, Nicaragua, Peru, Tajikistan and Tunisia as honored guests for the evening during its American Language and Culture themed program.
Global Ties Nebraska welcomes the public to join in on the celebration. For reservation information, email crystal@globaltiesnebraska.org.
