JA Stock Market Challenge to Take Place November 30

Junior Achievement (lincoln.ja.org) is bringing the stock exchange to Nebraska with their JA Stock Market Challenge on Tuesday, November 30! Presented by CFA Society Nebraska, this fun-filled, action-packed competition will give high school students the opportunity to experience the stock market first-hand while enhancing team-building and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

High school students will complete five in-class lessons prior to the competition to learn about the basics of the stock market and the importance of savings and investing. Then, during the competition from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Nebraska Innovation Campus, each team is issued $1,000,000 to invest in shares of fictitious and sponsored companies. Throughout the 60-turn trading period, the simulation will follow news events as they impact the market, challenging students to work together and determine if they want to buy, sell, or trade.

This will be the largest JA Stock Market Challenge in the country! Sponsor a team of students to compete in the JA Stock Market Challenge or partner with the event in a big way, getting your company’s name in front of 600+ students from over 30 high schools in 20 Nebraska communities.
