Since 2012, Visionary Youth (visionaryouth.org) has been a beacon of hope for youth and families facing financial challenges as they prepare for a new school year. What started as a small event with 50 youth has now grown into a pivotal annual event serving 1,200+ young people. This year, VY expects that number to soar to nearly 1,500.
They are calling on the community to help meet the rising demand. Too many children begin the school year without the basic supplies they need to succeed – struggling with anxiety, a lack of confidence, and the stress of challenges at home. Together, we can change that.
The Visionary Youth Annual Free Haircut and Backpack Event provides a helping hand to families to provide essential needs- a fresh haircut, backpack, and school supplies along with socks, undergarments, and a gift card for a new pair of shoes, at a fun filled celebration of the potential of these amazing young people.
