Local Rotary Clubs Participate in Nationwide Dictionary Project

Lincoln South Rotary Club (www.lincolnsouthrotary.org) members, along with the other Rotary Clubs in Lincoln, distributed over 3,600 dictionaries to 4th graders in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Since 2006, the Lincoln Rotary Clubs have sponsored the dictionary project, which is a nationwide initiative focused on providing dictionaries to students across the country. The dictionary project is just one way that Rotary promotes literacy in the world.

In addition to providing the dictionaries, presentations were given educating students about Noah Webster, Rotary, Polio Eradication (the signature project of Rotary international) and explaining the importance of community service overall.

Lincoln South Rotary is a service organization that supports a variety of activities. Recently the club and its members provided support to Windsong Equitherapy, Mourning Hope, and the Child Guidance Center.
