United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County (unitedwaylincoln.org) invites community members to join its annual Day of Caring on Friday, September 5. This signature event mobilizes volunteers to help close gaps across the community, ensuring that every resident has the opportunity to thrive.

Every fall, Day of Caring brings together residents, businesses and local organizations to participate in meaningful service projects. Volunteers engage in activities such as painting, cleaning, landscaping, reading to children, preparing meals and assisting with special event preparations. These efforts not only improve local spaces but also support the valuable programs offered by United Way and its CHAD partner agencies.

“Day of Caring is more than a volunteer opportunity, it’s a chance for our community to come together, make tangible improvements and highlight the impact of nonprofit services across Lincoln and Lancaster County,” said a United Way representative.

Local businesses are encouraged to sign up their teams and contribute to the collective effort of strengthening the community. Companies and individuals alike can make a lasting difference while promoting a culture of volunteerism and civic engagement.

United Way thanks Black Hills Energy for sponsoring this year’s Day of Caring, helping to make these service opportunities possible.
