Make-A-Wish Nebraska Seeks More Wish Granter Volunteers

Make-A-Wish (nebraska.wish.org/ways-to-help/volunteering) is currently in need of more Wish Granters to commit their time to make a child’s wish come true. Every 34 minutes, Make-A-Wish grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a critical illness in the United States and its territories. Studies show that patients who received a wish were more likely to have fewer hospital and emergency visits. These wishes are made possible by Wish Granters.

Wish Granters are volunteers who meet with a child to discover, plan, and fulfill a wish. Then, they turn each wish into a lasting, memorable experience for each wish family by utilizing creative energy, unparalleled enthusiasm, and compassion.

Wish Granters must be at least 21 years old and pass a mandatory criminal background check. All Make-A-Wish volunteers attend a volunteer orientation session, complete the necessary paperwork, and are then assigned to a specific team. These volunteers work together to better the lives of children fighting critical illnesses.
