During the month of April, Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital (MJE) (jehfoundation.org) gives special recognition to its many volunteers for all they do, every day throughout the year.
During National Volunteer Week, April 20-26, MJE pays tribute to these wonderful individuals with a special luncheon and program to recognize retired volunteers and presents pins for volunteer hours. During the month, each hospital department selects a day to honor volunteers by hand delivering a special treat to each volunteer working.
MJE Volunteers add to the quality of services provided to patients, their families and the community. Every day, volunteers help improve a patient’s stay at the hospital by being welcoming, assuring and compassionate. They also assist doctors and nurses, deliver newspapers and flowers, welcome guests to the gift shop or provide helpful information at front desks.
Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital welcomes new volunteers to join this incredibly compassionate team who are the heart and soul of the hospital. As a volunteer one can choose days, evenings or weekends to fit into one’s schedule. There are also opportunities to volunteer at special events and fundraisers.
