Mourning Hope Grief Center Presents Holiday Hope Event on December 4

On Saturday, December 4, Mourning Hope Grief Center (mourninghope.org/services/hhreg.html) is excited to present Holiday Hope, a program created to support the bereaved during the often-difficult holiday season. Open to youth and families at the Center, 1311 S Folsom St., the event will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. To foster emotional healing and encourage individual creativity, local artists partner with youth and teens who have experienced the death of someone significant in their lives. A separate group for adult caregivers is offered as well.

Youth ages 5-18 are invited to come together for an age-appropriate holiday memory workshop to develop and grow through creative expression and critical thinking. In addition, caregivers will meet for a peer-support session with tips on how to cope with the holiday season. The Holiday Hope program is free, but pre-registration is required. Activity supplies and to-go snacks will be provided.

The Mourning Hope Grief Center companions children, adults, and families before and after a death loss. Mourning Hope provides grief support groups, counseling, community education, resources, and referrals. Registration for Holiday Hope can be found at mourninghope.org/services/hhreg.html.
