Record-Breaking Give to Lincoln Day Raises Nearly $7M, Benefits 448 Nonprofits

Give to Lincoln Day (www.GiveToLincoln.com) on May 28 raised a record-breaking nearly $7 million, almost $1.4 million over the previous record set last year. The funds were designated to help support 448 local nonprofits that serve Lincoln and Lancaster County. All participating nonprofits will receive a proportional share of a $500,000 match fund provided by Lincoln Community Foundation (www.LCF.org) and other sponsors, based upon the organization’s percentage of the total dollars raised.

“What a heartwarming response from our city,” said Barbara Bartle, president of the Lincoln Community Foundation. “The organizations that are critical to the care, support, and spirit of Lincoln needed us now more than ever. Thousands of donors answered the call during such an uncertain time. I am so grateful for this generous community.”

Nearly 31,000 individual donations were received for the 9th annual Give to Lincoln Day, an increase of almost 10,000 from the previous year.

“Since Give to Lincoln Day began in 2012, donors have contributed nearly $33 million to our nonprofits,” said Bartle. “This was truly a remarkable day and an incredible show of support for our community and neighbors. Lincoln came together to help Lincoln and, in the process, lifted our spirits.”
