Sponsors, Volunteers Needed for JA’s Stock Market Challenge November 30

Sponsors and volunteers are needed for Junior Achievement (lincoln.ja.org)’s Stock Market Challenge, set to take place at Nebraska Innovation Campus on Tuesday, November 30. The Stock Market Challenge will give high school students the opportunity to experience the stock market first-hand while enhancing team-building and communication skills.

Students will first complete five in-class lessons to learn about the basics of the stock market and the importance of savings and investing. Then, during the competition from 9 to 11 a.m., each team is issued $1,000,000 to invest in shares of fictitious companies. Throughout the 60-turn trading period, the simulation will follow news events as they impact the market, challenging students to work together and determine if they want to buy, sell, or trade.

Show your support by sponsoring a team of four high school students to compete in the JA Stock Market Challenge as they put their knowledge to the test. Volunteers are also needed to check-in students and teachers, take photos, and be a trader on the trading floor.

Junior Achievement is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices.
