Village Inn “Raising Forks for Funds” to Support CEDARS

Through a program called “Raising Forks for Funds,” the Village Inn restaurant located at 27th and Cornhusker Highway in Lincoln is hosting a monthly dine out fundraiser to support local nonprofit, CEDARS (cedarskids.org). On the second Thursday of each month through December, diners can mention they are there to support CEDARS and 20% of their sales will be donated to the child caring organization.

Village Inn manager Dan Carney, who is also a foster parent, says he is passionate about helping children. “I believe in the work CEDARS does. I know they’re doing a lot to help kids and that matters to me,” he says. “If you can help one person, one kid, that’s meaningful.”

For over 70 years, CEDARS has been helping kids in crisis and building strong families. Since the beginning, support from caring individuals, families, and like-minded organizations have allowed this work to continue. Every day CEDARS works to build stronger families in the community, which ensures that the children receive the safety and stability they need to thrive and reach their full potential. This past year, CEDARS served 194 families and 2,441 children.
