Vision Maker Media (visionmakermedia.org) and The Ross Media Arts Center Native American Film Series 2025 are screening For the Rights of All: Ending Jim Crow in Alaska, a docudrama that tells the story of an extraordinary Alaskan woman who becomes an unlikely hero in the fight for civil rights. Elizabeth Peratrovich (Tlingit) testified before the Alaska Territorial Senate in 1945, and with her compelling testimony swayed the vote for the passage of the Anti-Discrimination Act, the first civil rights bill passed in the United States since the Civil War. Following the film will be a pre-recorded presentation with legal historian Katrina Jagodinsky, examining marginalized peoples’ engagement with nineteenth-century legal regimes and competing jurisdictions throughout the North American West.

Join them Monday, March 10, at 7 p.m. at The Ross. Admission is free and open to the public. For all shows and times, visit theross.org or call The Ross hotline at (402) 472-5353.
