CenterPointe (centerpointe.org) is proud to announce that its President and CEO, Topher Hansen, has been awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. The honor was presented during NatCon25, the nation’s premier behavioral health conference, held last week in Philadelphia.

The award recognizes Hansen’s extraordinary contributions to the mental health and substance use treatment field over the course of nearly five decades. His career, which began as a volunteer in the 1970s, has been marked by unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and a passion for building more compassionate, accessible, and effective behavioral health services.

Under Hansen’s leadership, for more than 20 years, CenterPointe has grown into one of Nebraska’s most innovative behavioral health organizations, offering a full continuum of care that integrates mental health, substance use, and physical health services. His tireless advocacy and commitment to person-centered care have not only transformed CenterPointe but have also helped shape behavioral health systems and policies at the state and national levels.

The National Council’s Lifetime Achievement Award is one of the highest honors in the behavioral health field, reserved for individuals whose careers demonstrate exceptional leadership, service, and lasting influence.

As Hansen accepted the award before thousands of peers and professionals, the room reflected on his legacy: one built on hope, equity, and the belief that recovery is possible for everyone.
