Chris Hove Elected to Chairman of Nebraska Bankers Association

Chris Hove, president and CEO of Nebraska Bank of Commerce in Lincoln, has been elected by his peers as chairman of the Nebraska Bankers Association (NBA; www.nebankers.org) Board of Directors, succeeding Alan Emshoff, president and CEO of Generations Bank in Exeter.

Hove began his career in banking more than 35 years ago at the Minden Exchange Bank & Trust Co. in Minden, NE, filling numerous part time positions from bookkeeping and check sorting to janitorial duties. From 1983 to 1992, Hove served in the United States Navy as a Flight Officer. Upon leaving active duty, Hove gained additional banking experience in the areas of compliance, consumer, and commercial banking at numerous Nebraska-chartered banks including First National Bank of Omaha, Platte Valley State Bank, National Bank of Commerce, and West Gate Bank. In July 2010, Hove joined Nebraska Bank of Commerce as executive vice president and senior loan officer. In 2011, Hove was promoted to his current role as president and CEO.

Hove has consistently taken active roles within the association having served on the NBA Government Relations Committee, Lending Committee, Bank Management Committee, Executive Management Committee, and several Schools of Banking Advisory Committees. He recently served on the NBA Board of Directors (2014–2016), and the NBA Voluntary Employee Beneficiaries Association Board of Trustees (2017 – 2019).
