Lincoln’s Fresh Start is pleased to welcome Christopher Marks and Jennifer Williams to its Board of Directors.
Marks has supported the transitional shelter for homeless women for many years and is excited to deepen his involvement by serving on the board. He has been a member of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln faculty for 20 years and currently serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Faculty Affairs. In addition to his academic leadership, Marks is an active performing musician, playing organ, piano, and harpsichord locally and nationally.
“I’m excited to be supporting the Fresh Start mission by serving on the board,” Marks said.
Williams is a consultant and registered lobbyist with American Communications Group, Inc. Her professional background includes serving as a Lancaster County Commissioner, advising two Lincoln mayors and a Nebraska governor, and working in the Nebraska Legislature. She has been actively involved in nonprofit organizations for many years and enjoys playing the piano, singing in a cover band, and traveling.
“Fresh Start is a great community resource for those who need additional support to get their lives back on track,” Williams said. “I’m honored to be part of the board.”
Fresh Start also thanks outgoing board member Rachel Brenden for her service. While balancing a full-time career and motherhood, she generously contributed her time and leadership to empowering women experiencing homelessness.
