Bridges to Hope (bridgestohopene.org) proudly recognizes its founder, Pastor Bud Christenson, for his decades of unwavering dedication to helping individuals successfully reenter society after incarceration.

Pastor Bud’s mission began in the late 1990s when he and his late wife, Muriel, saw a need for tangible support for men and women leaving prison. Together, they acquired a warehouse to store and distribute donated household goods and clothing, creating a place where second chances could take root.

Under Pastor Bud’s leadership and vision, Bridges to Hope became officially incorporated in 2009 and achieved nonprofit 501(c)(3) status in 2011. Since then, the organization has grown tremendously, continuing to provide essential items, encouragement and hope to hundreds of returning citizens each year.

Although now retired from full-time ministry, Pastor Bud’s compassion and commitment remain steadfast. He continues to serve in prison ministry and as pastor of Friedens Lutheran Church, located at 6th and D Streets in Lincoln.

Bridges to Hope celebrates Pastor Bud Christenson for his lasting impact on countless lives and for building a legacy rooted in faith, compassion and second chances. His vision continues to inspire the work that Bridges to Hope carries forward today.
