Lincoln Chamber Welcomes New Executives to Community

On November 28, the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce (www.lcoc.com) hosted a CEO Reception to welcome four new executives. Receptions are held with the purpose of welcoming new CEOs, presidents, general managers, and officials to the community.

The 2018 honorees included Jack Weeks, Lincoln market president of First National Bank; Derek Vance, president of CHI Health St. Elizabeth Nebraska Heart; Eric Steele, executive director of USA Roller Sports; and Brigadier General Wendy Johnson, assistant adjutant general for air and commander at Nebraska Air National Guard.

Weeks joined First National Bank in 2003 as a credit analyst, became a commercial lender and then senior lender in the South Dakota market until 2017, when he was promoted to the role of Lincoln market president. Weeks serves on the board of United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development, and Lincoln Chamber Economic Development Committee.

Vance started at St. Elizabeth/Nebraska Heart in November 2017. He has 18 years of health care leadership experience, most recently serving as CEO of the LewisGale Hospital in Pulaski, VA. He is an accomplished CEO who sees the most important part of his job as driving a positive culture of high engagement.

Steele currently serves as the executive director for USA Roller Sports, the National Governing Body recognized by the United States Olympic Committee for the sport disciplines of Inline Speed Skating, Artistic Roller Skating, Roller Hockey, and Roller Derby headquartered in Lincoln. Prior to his position with USA Roller Sports, Steele served in a variety of professional executive roles with the Boy Scouts of America from 1998-2016. He still volunteers on their risk management and properties committees.

Johnson serves as the assistant adjutant general for the Nebraska Air National Guard. In this capacity, she has the overall responsibility for the organization, training, and equipage of the 155th Air Refueling Wing in Lincoln and the 170th Group at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue. She serves as the principal advisor to the adjutant general on complex and sensitive issues in the areas of logistics, command and control, communications, manpower and personnel, and other support functions related to mission operations.
