American Heart Association Omaha (heart.org) welcomes new leadership to guide local efforts in advancing cardiovascular health and saving lives.

Michaela Newman, Executive Director of Oncology, Nebraska Medicine, has been appointed to serve as President/Chair of the American Heart Association’s Omaha Board of Directors. In this role, Newman leads a group of health care, business and community leaders in driving the Association’s mission and advancing health and hope for everyone, everywhere. Newman continued her two-year term as board chairperson on July 1.

“I’m honored to serve in this leadership role with the American Heart Association,” said Newman. “The mission to improve health and save lives continues to resonate deeply with me, both personally and professionally. I’m committed to helping create a future where everyone can live a longer, healthier life.”
