Steve Langdon Celebrates 14 Years with Community Action Partnership

In June, Steve Langdon, human resources director, celebrated his 14-year anniversary at Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties (www.communityactionatwork.org). Langdon embodies Community Action’s five guiding principles: passion, integrity, respect, performance, and community. The excitement around this personnel milestone went hand in hand with Community Action being named one of Lincoln’s Best Places to Work in 2019. It is a true testament to the quality of work culture the organization strives to maintain.

In the last 10 years, the number of people living in poverty in Lincoln has grown by 45%. Community Action works to empower people living in poverty to reach economic stability. Their 18 programs focus eliminating the causes and conditions of poverty through 18 programs and services in four impact areas: early childhood education, homelessness prevention, financial and family well-being, and hunger relief and healthy food access. In 2018, Community Action provided 114,450 poverty-fighting services to 19,642 individuals.
