After six years as the Executive Director of The Bridge Behavioral Health (www.thebridgenebraska.org), Tammy Stevenson resigned from the position to pursue other opportunities. While the organization conducts a search for a permanent replacement, the Board of Directors has named Jerome Barry LLC, LMHP, LADC as Interim Executive Director.

“We thank Tammy for her years of service at The Bridge Behavioral Health and her dedication to the recovery community. During her tenure, The Bridge has grown program offerings and pioneered several initiatives. We wish Tammy all the best in the next stage of her career, and we welcome the expertise in substance use treatment that Jerome brings during the leadership transition,” said Cathy Kottwitz, Board President.

Barry retired from his role at Bryan Health as director of the Independence Center from 1999 through 2020 and brings 43 years of experience as a leader of substance use services throughout the state in Omaha, Grand Island and Lincoln. He has spent the last three years consulting for the Department of Health and Human Services at both Whitehall and the Lincoln Regional Center, and has been consulting and volunteering at The Bridge since late March of 2023.

The Bridge serves individuals struggling with substance use issues. The organization offers withdrawal services, substance use respite care and both short-term and intermediate residential treatment programs. The Bridge uses a “relationship first” model of care and strives to meet each individual where they are at in the recovery process.
