The Mediation Center Welcomes Board Members Oscar Rios Pohirieth and Rick Vest

At the 2019 annual meeting, The Mediation Center (themediationcenter.org) elected two new members to the Board of Directors: Oscar Rios Pohirieth and Rick Vest. Oscar is the Lincoln Public Schools’ cultural specialist and coordinator of the Bilingual Liaison Program. Rick is a Lancaster County Commissioner and an affiliated mediator with The Mediation Center. The Center is excited to add Oscar’s and Rick’s fresh perspectives and proven leadership skills to a Board of Directors that is dedicated to providing all members of the community with access to professional, affordable mediation services.

For more than 25 years, The Mediation Center has filled a unique and important niche in Lancaster County. With a professional staff possessing expertise in the areas of conflict resolution and collaborative strategies, along with the commitment of 100 extensively trained, highly-skilled affiliated mediators, the Center opens nearly 1,000 cases a year. The Mediation Center is proud of the quality and breadth of their programming, and they are committed to increasing people’s understanding of mediation as a useful and effective dispute resolution process so they might reach out for services more readily.
