Southeast Community College’s (SCC, www.southeast.edu) Learning Center at York began calling downtown York home when it moved into its new location at 401 N Lincoln Ave. on July 1. It was previously located at the Holthus Convention Center. The new location will provide more space for classes, computer labs, and meeting rooms.

“The new location will provide opportunity to serve more students to access lifelong educational course offerings,” said Cinda Konken, dean of extended learning. “SCC’s new location will better serve the city of York and surrounding communities by having a presence to be able to meet local business and industry needs.”

The Learning Center at York opened six years ago as part of a strategic plan to better serve the educational needs of the communities in southeast Nebraska. The other learning centers are in Falls City, Hebron, Nebraska City, Plattsmouth, and Wahoo. The Learning Center will continue to renovate and unpack until classes start on August 22.

Southeast Community College is committed to providing accessible, dynamic, and responsive education in more than 50 programs to a diverse variety of students.
