The Arc of Lincoln (arclincoln.org) marked Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM) in March with a series of community events that highlighted inclusion while creating meaningful opportunities for local business engagement.

The month began with a Mayoral Proclamation, as Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird officially recognized March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in Lincoln, reinforcing the importance of inclusive communities and strong partnerships between nonprofits, local leaders, and businesses.

Throughout March, The Arc of Lincoln hosted high-impact events including a Pickleball Round Robin Fundraiser, Inclusive Community Bingo Night, and a Community Resource Fair in partnership with Lincoln Public Schools, held at The Career Academy at Southeast Community College. These events brought together individuals, families, service providers, and businesses, offering sponsors valuable visibility and direct community connection.

For local businesses, involvement with The Arc of Lincoln provides opportunities to increase brand visibility, engage employees in meaningful experiences, and demonstrate corporate social responsibility within the Lincoln community.

As The Arc of Lincoln moves into April, ongoing programs such as Come Together, Friendly Faces, and People First/Aktion Club continue to provide consistent opportunities for engagement and community impact.

Businesses are encouraged to get involved through corporate sponsorships, memberships, and program support. To explore partnership opportunities or become a sponsor, visit: Become a Business Partner.
