Since 1984, The Bridge Behavioral Health (thebridgenebraska.org) has provided treatment and support to those struggling with substance use and related mental health disorders. Although contracts with law enforcement to provide civil protective custody ended in September, The Bridge continues to offer a medically supervised detoxification and withdrawal program. The Bridge can help individuals who wish to detox from alcohol, opioids, benzos, fentanyl, and methamphetamines.

The accredited detoxification and withdrawal program consists of three essential components: evaluation, stabilization, and fostering the client’s readiness for treatment. In addition to 24/7 nursing staff, The Bridge’s multi-disciplinary team includes a social worker, LADC, LIMHP, and Recovery Advocates (many with lived experience). An APRN is also on-site seven days a week.

The Bridge Behavioral Health helps over 900 individuals each year with detoxification and withdrawal. Over 85% of the individuals have no insurance or receive Medicaid. For many of these clients, The Bridge also provides basic necessities such as clothing, toiletries, and access to basic healthcare. For help or for more information about detoxification and withdrawal, call The Bridge at (402) 477-3951 and speak with a nurse or visit thebridgenebraska.org.
