During the Native American powwow and art market season, Vision Maker Media (visionmakermedia.org) highlights its films about art as a tribute to Native art in all of its practices: literature, craft, music, song, dance, and language. Every spring kicks off the powwow season for many Native people across the country.

A powwow is a gathering event of many different Native nations and citizens, who come TOGETHER to socialize and honor their cultures in various song and dance styles. Artisans demonstrate their talent through traditional song and dance, dance regalia, or art to sell at these powwows. Dancers, singers, and their families have found ways to make the powwow trail profitable by becoming an art or food vendor. The art vendors sell many things from traditional to contemporary Native arts. Vendors travel the powwow circuit to sell their wares, see friends and family again, and be part of the intertribal cultural celebration.

Another art event around the country is the Native art markets that widely occur during the spring and summer months.
