What’s been the biggest turning point in your business?

We’ve experienced the most growth to date since we rebranded as Eyes on Lincoln in 2014. The past few years have been an exciting time of change; we’ve been fortunate to serve many new families along with our established client base, and have also welcomed new doctors and staff that are great at what they do and have proven to be wonderful additions to our practice.

What changes have you seen in the industry and your practice in the past few years?

We’ve noticed an increase in people with insurance coverage. There seems to be more people now who have insurance than ever before, a trend that we hope continues in the years to come!

As far as what’s new at Eyes on Lincoln, we’re so excited to introduce the recent addition of Optomap retinal imaging to our services. The Optomap Retinal Exam provides a panoramic digital view of the back of a person’s eye (the retina). The view provided by the Optomap displays over 80% of the retina versus 15% of the standard traditional dilated exam.  It is suitable for the whole family, which aligns perfectly with who we serve.

Getting an Optomap image is fast, painless, and comfortable – nothing touches your eye at any time. To have the exam, you simply look into the device one eye at a time, much like looking through a keyhole, and you will see a comfortable flash of light to let you know the image of your retina has been taken. Under most circumstances, dilation drops are not necessary.

The benefits of having an Optomap retinal image taken are significant. The procedure facilitates early protection from vision impairment or blindness as well as early detection of life-threatening diseases like cancer, stroke, and cardiovascular disease. Its unique ultra-wide field view helps your eye care practitioner detect early signs of retinal disease more effectively and efficiently than with traditional eye exams.

What do you see happening with the practice in the next five years?

We anticipate continued growth and expansion, and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
