Tell us a little about your business.

We help homeowners and commercial property owners with all their heating and cooling needs, whether it be service, repair, or replacement. Our technicians don’t work on commission and we make recommendations based on the client’s best interests, not our profit.

How did you get started in the business?

I joined the Star City Heating & Cooling team about three months ago. I had known the owner, Keith McRoberts, from a networking connection I made years prior. I had also been taking advantage of Star City’s VIP Maintenance Plan (and still do) at my home to keep my equipment running great.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?

Exploring a new industry has been challenging, but I like to learn. I’ve also enjoyed educating other people on the things I’ve learned—things that most people don’t even think about until something breaks.

Tell us a little about your family.

My wife Rhonda and I have been married for 22 years. On our first date we saw Bye Bye Love, a movie about divorce. We have a daughter named Jourdan who we adopted when she was about two weeks old. She is now 16. Where does the time go!

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?

When my wife was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) it made me look at life differently. I try not to take anything for granted.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

I like cycling, photography, hiking, and kayaking—pretty much anything that involves getting out in nature.

Who inspires you?

I am very proud of my daughter and her caring, compassionate heart for others.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

God is bigger than any giant in your life.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be?

Warrior.

If you had a theme song, what would it be?

“More Than Conquerors” by Rend Collective.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?

Playing the drums.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be?

Something involving transportation because I love to drive.

What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why?

Coalition on Human Trafficking. Their mission has gripped me and won’t let go—maybe because I have a daughter and I would go full on Liam Neeson in Taken if someone that ever did that to her.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?

I just read Crazy Love by Francis Chan.

What is your favorite movie?

Braveheart.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

Honest Abe’s.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be?

Jesus Christ.
