Meet Adam Lowney, sales associate at Greenleaf Commercial Real Estate.
Tell us a little about your business. – We (Greenleaf Commercial Real Estate, www.greenleafcommercial.com) represent buyers and sellers in commercial property acquisitions and dispositions, commercial leasing, property assessment and analysis, and site selection.
How did you get started in the business? – I was a career bartender mostly in south Lincoln where I met many in the industry. Real estate was a thought of mine for years, but I decided to make the switch when I was presented with a great opportunity to join Greenleaf.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Getting smoother! I have always been a people person and excelled in sales, but the office element has taken some getting used to. It’s been a journey! The commercial world is deep and vast, and the industry reaches and overlaps other sectors.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I’m proud of the many sales transactions I was involved in 2021. For me, it’s reassurance to myself that the groundwork has been laid and the plan is coming together.
Tell us a little about your family. – We’re all originally from western Illinois, but we moved to Colorado in 1998 and then moved to Waverly, NE in 2003 where I graduated high school. I live in southeast Lincoln, my sister lives in Lincoln, and my mother lives in Waverly.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – I worked in the bar industry on the Las Vegas strip at a couple different casinos in my mid-20s. During my time there I became aware of how fast and competitive the world is. This is when I reset my cruise control, striving to continuously grow and to always give my best.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – After chores and a workout, I like to find a nice patio or restaurant!
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I have a good eye, and I’m extremely detailed.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – The world won’t stop for anyone or their situation, you have to be tough and turn with the world.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Honest.
What is your favorite movie? – Fight Club.
What is your favorite TV show? – I don’t really watch shows because all I can think of is what else I should be doing! I mostly enjoy live sporting events or watching news broadcasts.
What is your favorite local restaurant? – MoMo Pizzeria & Ristorante! I spent five years working behind the bar at this establishment and it opened many doors in my life. The food and the drinks/wine are off the charts. The staff is like family and the ambience is stellar.
