After working in real estate in St. Louis, Missouri for a number of years, Don Linscott moved back to Lincoln to serve as the director for the Airport Authority. After several years, he decided to start his own real estate company in Lincoln and Greenleaf Properties was begun. Greenleaf helps each client achieve their goals with forward-thinking strategies and by offering a full cycle of service. What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Keeping up with the continual changes in the real estate industry including tax law changes, green initiatives, new construction methods, and changing retail consumer preferences.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Having had the opportunity of working with clients in helping to solve their real estate needs and requirements.

Tell me a little about your family. – Cathy and I have been married for fifty years. We enjoy traveling together and are planning a trip abroad this next year. We have a son, John, who joined Greenleaf Properties this year.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Leaving the family meat packing company in Falls City and starting my real estate career in St. Louis.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I enjoy playing golf and traveling.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – That I wanted to be a professional card player.

What are you the most proud of? – Having been involved in the conception and development of several commercial real estate projects.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – When I was a freshman in high school running my first half mile in practice, I got tired and stopped running. My high school coach came over to me and yelled “Never quit running until you finish the race.”

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish? – To be recognized as a knowledgeable Real Estate professional.

How would your friends describe you? – I hope they would think of me as loyal and trustworthy.

Which talent would you most like to have? – I would like to better understand new technology and to keep pace with the changes that apply to Real Estate.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? – To set my goals for an exercise program and be able to follow thru on a consistent basis.
