Star City Six – Elizabeth “Biz” Rose

Bob Nohavec Plumbing is a family-owned plumbing business that has proudly served the Lincoln and surrounding area for over 40 years. Elizabeth “Biz” Rose is the office manager for Bob Nohavec Plumbing.

Tell us a little about your business.

We have built a solid reputation for reliable and quality service. We do everything from new home construction and remodels, to all services for residential and commercial sites. Services range from water heaters, water softeners, and cabling drains, to faucet and toilet repair/replacements.

How did you get started in the business?

My fiance Matt Kudlacek is now the current owner of his father’s plumbing company. As a couple, we decided that my career path would be to work side by side with my partner in the role of office manager. We work so great together.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?

We have a great team of employees. However, as the business grows, we are faced with a shortage of people wanting to go into the trade industry.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?

Helping to grow the business by offering great customer service and building relationships with our returning clients.

Tell us a little about your family.

Both born and raised in Nebraska, Matt and I have a 14-month-old baby named Kylie. She and her 12-year-old sister Jada both bring so much joy into our lives.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?

Building a family with Matt, including becoming a mom, has been so rewarding.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

Spending time with family and friends, going to the lake, gardening, and hanging out with our beautiful daughters.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?

Literally, people don’t know my name is Elizabeth. My cousin nicknamed me Biz and it stuck.

Who inspires you?

People who go through the ups and downs of life but still see the good in everything.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

If you had a theme song, what would it be?

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

Teleporting.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?

Connecting with people. I often connect with people on the phone but would prefer to connect in person.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be?

Interior design.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why?

Dimensions Foundation. They have a program called Nature Explore which is all about connecting children to nature.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.

What is your favorite movie?

Man on Fire.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

MoMo Pizzeria & Ristorante.
