Tell us a little about your business. – The Waterford Communities (TheWaterford.net) provides assisted living and memory care across multiple locations, including Waterford at College View, Waterford Williamsburg, and Waterford Wilderness Hills Memory Care. We are committed to providing residents with dignity, respect, and individualized support in a home-like environment. Our dedicated, well-trained team members focus on enhancing quality of life through personalized care, engaging activities, and meaningful relationships that help individuals thrive. Waterford Communities is devoted to creating supportive, enriching experiences that offer both a true sense of home and lasting peace of mind for families. I work in the corporate office, where I support the organization through a wide range of responsibilities, including bookkeeping, accounting, record management, and human resources.

How did you get started in the business? – I started working with senior and assisted living communities about 20 years ago and worked my way into an office setting and began bookkeeping and now work at the Waterford.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Building my leadership skills. I mainly work alone and got really used to it but leading a team is something I constantly work on.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Earning increased responsibility and reliability through years of consistent work.

Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married to my husband, Josh, for 21 years and we have two kids, Cole who is 20 and Lauryn who is 16. We also have two lovable dogs.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Becoming a mother. It changes your whole life. Every choice, intuition and want gets shifted when you welcome new life.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I really love to be outside and going for a run or walk, along with attending sporting events. I also love to spend time with my family.
Who inspires you? – My mom is the strongest person I know. She inspires me daily.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “People will never forget how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Loyal.

If you could have a super power, what would it be – Mind reading.

Which talent would you most like to have? – To be a good cook… or even enjoy cooking. I’d like to be able to cook healthy, delicious foods.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I think being a detective would be fun, being able to investigate crimes and help people.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – American Cancer Society. My dad died of lung cancer when he was 50 years old. The work they do saves lives every day.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – My all time favorite books is The Hunger Games Series.

What is your favorite movie? – Hunger Games or Fault in Our Stars.

What is your favorite local Lincoln restaurant? – It’s either MoMo’s Pizzeria & Ristorante or Toast.
