Tell us a little about your business.

We help patients to reach their goals no matter how big or how small they may be. We provide a caring and welcoming environment, almost as if those who walk through our doors seeking assistance are family.

How did you get started in the business?

I had been through physical therapy several times growing up due to several sports injuries. With physical therapy treatments, I was able to continue competing in sports without further injury. After seeing the world of physical therapy first hand, I wanted to be a part of it. I wanted to be able to help others as I had been helped in order to allow them to achieve their goals. At the time of deciding I wanted to pursue a career as a PTA, I didn’t know how rewarding every day of work would be.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?

I was young when I started working as a PTA. I began working at Husker Rehab at the age of 20. A lot of the physical therapy techs were the same age if not older than I was. Being able to distinguish myself and my position was difficult at times.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?

The continuing of my education to become a BSPTA from Clarkson College. They are one of the two programs in the nation that provide the BSPTA program.

Tell us a little about your family.

My family is very supportive and loving. They have helped me to keep pushing myself further to become the best that I can be.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?

Going to college. You have to learn how to be an adult and take care of things on your own, including bills. This helped introduce me into what adulthood held and how to adjust to taking care of myself.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

Go out to eat or to try new foods. I have to admit I love food and have become much more brave with trying new things. I have found that I don’t always like them, but the company of friends and family members always make for a great time.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

One of the best pieces of advice I ever received was from my grandmother who always told me to live the life I love—to keep going after what I wanted in life and as long as I am happy, that is all that matters.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be?

Empathetic.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

Flying. This way I could travel much faster and see the world.

Which talent would you most like to have?

The ability to sing well.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be?

Nursing, because nurses help not only patients but family members of those they encounter. They often have one of the biggest impacts on patient’s lives.

How to Train Your Dragon.
