How did you get started in the business?

I started working in the audio-visual industry in 1998. The company I worked for was a distributor/reseller of AV equipment. I quickly learned how big the AV industry truly was. After 12 years of working there, I decided it was time to make a change. AV integration was always on my radar. I wanted to be a part of providing clients with a turnkey AV solution, and build a lasting relationship with them along the way. In 2011, I made the transition and started working for an AV integration company. The learning curve was challenging to say the least. Now I specialize in providing solutions for corporate and higher education clients at Echo Systems.

Tell us a little about your family.

My girlfriend is the center of my universe. She’s always so supportive and helps me grow each day. Family is everything to me. My mom and sister live in Arizona and my brother lives in Lincoln. I’m the proud uncle of three nephews and a niece.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

I enjoy boating at Branched Oak and riding my ATV on the Tuttle Creek trails. They are remote, unforgiving and I enjoy the challenge of not knowing what obstacle is around the corner. One minute you’re on the trail and the next minute you’re on the edge of a cliff. It keeps me focused.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?

I’ve been taking Krav Maga classes for four years. It’s a mixed martial art that consists of a combination of techniques sourced from boxing, wrestling, aikido and judo. I was drawn to Krav Maga because of the discipline it requires.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Be humble. Don’t criticize, condemn, or complain. If you can go through your day without doing these things it will change your mindset and so many other things in a positive way.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be?

Enthusiastic.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

Teleportation because I love to travel. My favorite place on earth is Hawaii, where I’ve been lucky enough to visit twice. My favorite island is Kona. I spent a week on the Island and filled my days with adventure visiting the lava tubes, rainforests, snorkeling, and learning about the local culture.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be?

I’d love to be a professional driver for the Corvette racing team.
