Tell us a little about your business.

“Because Design Matters” is our mantra. We work on a diverse range of projects with a common focus: to improve the built environment and exceed expectations. Project types include commercial, cultural, residential, hospitality, commercial kitchens, adaptive re-use, interiors, tenant finish, landscape, master planning, and architectural photography. I personally put my shingle out and opened Architectural Photography by Sam Peace.

How did you get started in the business?

Gill and I launched Peace Studio Architects in September of 2013. It had been a dream of ours for years. The stars all aligned and we were able to open our new business.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?

Growing at a fast pace. We’ve had to remind ourselves that we don’t have to reinvent the wheel when there are challenges. I have reached out to leaders in the community who I am lucky enough to be friends with and ask for advice.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?

Repeat clients and word of mouth recommendations that have allowed our company to grow. They are a testament to good work and good design. Architectural Photography by Sam Peace is a piece of Peace Studio’s that has organically grown. Photography has been a part of my life forever and I absolutely love to photograph the world!

Tell us a little about your family.

My family is the best part of my life. Gill and I have three amazing babies. The oldest at 23 is Guinn. She has moved to a big city and living her dream and best life. Joe is a junior at UNL heading for Law School, and Natalie is a junior at Southwest High school. She’s enjoying playing soccer, being social, and making honor role.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

See a movie, spend the day with Gill, go to lunch or get wine with friends, and when it’s warm enough, I like to sit by the pool and read a book. Any opportunity to be with my babies is always a bonus too!

Who inspires you?

My husband inspires me. Gill is incredibly smart, a wonderful husband and father, hard-working, kind, honest, and non-judgmental. He’s my best friend.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
