The October 3rd Market to Market Relay Nebraska presented by Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital had a total of 575 teams and 4,500 runners, making it the largest day-long running relay in the nation.  Runners from 31 states and 196 Nebraska communities took part in the annual team running relay race. In addition to more runners experiencing the race, the Market to Market Relay featured a new starting line at Aksarben Village. According to a University of Nebraska economic impact study the race annually brings in over half a million dollars to Nebraska’s economy. The running road trip from Omaha to Lincoln covered 76 miles over 19 stages on a scenic and varied course through four Nebraska counties.  The 19 legs ranged from 3 to 6 miles running through Omaha, Bellevue, Papillion, Springfield, South Bend, Murdock, Elmwood, Eagle, Walton, and Lincoln.
