Rita’s Italian Ice (www.ritasoflincoln.com), the world’s largest Italian Ice concept with more than 600 stores, began scooping ice on July 13th from its newest location in Lincoln, NE and celebrated by giving away free Italian Ice to residents all day. A ribbon cutting with the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce was held in conjunction with the official Grand Opening of the store on August 20th, and along with again offering guests free Italian Ice all day long the event also raised money for the TeamMates Mentoring Program.
Rita’s of Lincoln, located in the Northern Lights Shopping Center at 8222 Holdrege Street, is the first store for husband-and-wife team Michael and Elynn Malone. The couple also plans to open an additional Rita’s Italian Ice location later this year likely targeting a south Lincoln location.
The new Lincoln Rita’s is located on the northwest corner of North 84th and Holdrege Streets in the Northern Lights Shopping Center, making the location a convenient stop for residents looking for a unique, refreshing treat. Specialty offerings include Rita’s 65 flavors of legendary Italian Ice; smooth, silky Cream Ice; old fashioned frozen custard; Gelati’s (Italian Ice and custard layered – their #1 selling treat!); Misto’s, Milkshakes, Blendini’s and more – there’s truly something for everyone!
