Southeast Community College will be auctioning off another student-built house on June 10th, the 99th dwelling since the Building Construction Technology program began in 1961. Three programs on SCC’s Milford Campus have once again partnered to build a maintenance-free ranch-style house, this time containing 1,586 square feet of living space. Students in Building Construction Technology, Electrical & Electromechanical Technology, and Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology built the house from the ground up, and it features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, dining room, large utility room, and kitchen. The house is located on the building site, just southwest of the Eicher Technical Center, and will be auctioned at 2 p.m. on location.  Lance Larsen, a Cordova auctioneer with Lance Larsen & Associates, will carry on the family tradition and auction the house. Larsen will donate a portion of his fees to the Engvert & Darrol Larsen Scholarship Fund, in honor of his father and grandfather. Since the scholarship fund was established in 1979, approximately $35,500 has been distributed to 123 students.  Visitors may inspect the house from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays leading up to the auction.
