New Members Elected to Board of Regents at Concordia University

Concordia University, Nebraska (cune.edu) welcomed Timothy Hu and Rev. James Woelmer as new members of the Board of Regents and began new terms for three existing members of the Board as of Sept. 1, 2016. Hu was elected in July at the LCMS national convention. Woelmer was appointed to the Board by the Praesidium (the president and six regional vice presidents) of the LCMS.

Timothy Hu is an accomplished Electrical Engineer from Cheyenne, Wyoming. As a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Laramie, Wyoming, Hu currently serves as the congregational President and Head Deacon. Hu was elected as a Regent during the 66th Regular Convention of the LCMS in July. He replaces Tim Moll who completed his service to the board in August.

James Woelmer, Senior Administrative Pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas, earned his Master of Science in Family Life from Concordia Nebraska in 1999. In addition to his work as Pastor, Woelmer is an advocate for Lutheran education and has published an article in the Classical Lutheran Education Journal.

Two Board of Regents members were reelected in June 2016 by the delegates of the Nebraska District Convention to continue their service on Concordia’s Board of Regents until August 31, 2019: Rev. Keith Grimm from Andover, Minnesota; Rob Cooksey from Omaha, Nebraska and Jill Johnson from Seward, NE.
