Over 200 volunteers, including local churches of various denominations, and four prominent local businesses partnered with Lincoln/Lancaster County Habitat for Humanity (L/LCHFH) to build a home for a low-income single parent mother and her two young daughters.  The partner family was living in an unsafe housing situation with high rent and utilities that took most of their monthly income.  Now, Galina Letyayeva will realize the dream of homeownership and begin the process of investing in her family’s lives and in their future.

The celebration and dedication was held at the new home at 4935 Myrtle Street on Saturday, December 3rd.  The sponsoring businesses were recognized at this event along with the previous owners of the land where this new house now sits.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry dedicated to providing safe, decent, affordable housing for families in need. Since 1988, Habitat for Humanity has worked with 116 families and hundreds more volunteers to build homes in Lincoln/Lancaster County.
