Legacy Retirement Communities (LegacyRetirement.com) continues to provide Lincoln with award-winning elegance, world-class programming, and superior care. Their mission is to enrich the life of each person in their community by continuing the legacy and pursuit of excellence established by their founder, Jerry Joyce.

Legacy’s Story

Bernice lived alone in the home she owned. While she valued her independence, the cooking, cleaning, and upkeep of the home was a burden. Her son, Jerry Joyce, conceived Legacy Retirement Communities when he began to evaluate options for his mother. Jerry was inspired to create Legacy Retirement Communities, state-of-the-art communities that incorporate elegance, a superior quality of care, affordability, and thriving social activity all under one roof. To this day, they do not use that description lightly. Legacy Retirement Communities have been distinguished as leaders in their industry and have earned numerous local and national awards for their elegant communities and world-class service and programming. They are proud to still be a family-operated business serving families for years to come.

At Legacy, you can expect to enjoy a bustling, small town atmosphere, filled with smiling faces and warm hellos as you walk down Main Street. Stop in for a game of pool in the pub, a soft serve ice cream cone in the ice cream parlor, or cozy up with a good book in one of our sunrooms, overlooking luscious gardens and ponds. There is also a 24-hour fitness center with workouts designed for each individual’s needs and goals, including cardio, strength and balancing training. Meals at Legacy are almost entirely made from scratch, utilizing a farm-to-table approach to allow for the highest quality of ingredients. Each Legacy community will leave you with an appetite for this fulfilling lifestyle.
